Frequently Asked Questions
about IVF
at IVMED Family Agency

1. How much does IVF treatment cost?

Our IVF treatment programs are priced between 2000 to 14,000 euros. For IVF programs involving a surrogate mother, the cost starts at 41,000 euros. However, the actual cost may vary depending on individual infertility cases and additional services or medications required. We personalize the treatment plan for each couple.

2. What is the timeline for IVF preparation?

The preparation for IVF typically takes 1 month. This time is required for all necessary examinations and tests. The duration of hormonal stimulation of follicular maturation is on average 10-14 days, starting from day 2-3 of the menstrual cycle. Preparation for embryo transfer – an average of 3 weeks, starting from 3-4 days of the menstrual cycle.

3. What are the main stages of the IVF procedure?

The standard IVF stages include:

  • Comprehensive examinations and couple preparation.
  • Stimulation of ovulation and ovarian puncture.
  • Artificial insemination and embryo transfer.
  • HCG analysis to confirm pregnancy.

Please note that the specific stages may vary depending on the infertility treatment method.

4. When should we conduct a pregnancy test after the embryo transfer?

A pregnancy test should be done approximately 2 weeks after the embryo transfer. The HCG analysis detects early pregnancy before ultrasound can provide conclusive results.

5. Is age a factor in IVF success?

There is no age limit for IVF treatment. IVF can be performed even after the age of 40 if the woman is medically capable of carrying a child. For women over 40, IVF is often conducted using donor oocytes.

6. What is the maximum number of embryos allowed for transfer?

As per Ukrainian legislation, we cannot transfer more than 3 embryos. Typically, we transfer one or two embryos to increase the chances of pregnancy.

7. Can we select the gender of our future baby?

Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), which is primarily performed to determine the possible presence of chromosomal abnormalities in the embryo and, thus, hereditary diseases of the unborn child, also includes determining the sex of the embryo.

8. How is the paperwork for the child handled in Ukraine?

Our team at IVMED Family Agency will assist you with the registration and paperwork after the baby’s birth. The Registry office will issue a birth certificate with the names of the genetic parents. Additionally, we will help you obtain the necessary travel documents or the passport for the child at your country’s embassy.

9. What is the typical processing time for the child's documents?

The child’s documents are usually ready within one month. The processing time may vary depending on the requirements of your country’s embassy.
